CFL's - Compact Flourescent Lamps

by dale 8. December 2008 15:19
Compact Flourescent Lamps (CFL'S), when compared to the electricity used by conventional light bulbs, can save as much as 75% per lamp. They also last as much as ten times longer that an incandescent bulb, having a life that can last as long as 7 years. This is all based on simply changing a 65 watt incandescent lamp for a 15 watt CFL. These have an Energy Star energy efficiency rating and, depending on the usage, could save you around $15.00 per year per CFL. Although CFL's may take between 30 seconds and a minute to come up to full wattage, they can have a dramatic effect on your electricity and financial savings. Do yourself a favor and change all the lamps in your home to see the savings on your electric bill every month.
