Dimmers For Lighting

by dale 11. December 2008 07:57

Installing dimmers on lighting fixtures can save as much as 15% of electrical energy for those that they are applied to. This is also a great way to set that romantic mood in the dining room or set that low-lit ambiance in whatever room that you desire. Be sure to remember, however, that dimmers do not work on non-dimming Compact Fluorescent Lamps, or CFL’s. Make sure that you have dimming CFL’s installed before installing a dimmer. Also remember that every little bit of energy saved helps out on that monthly electric bill. In the end, if you are not using that extra energy, the power company does not need to make as much electricity, which reduces the CO2 from that specific power plant that supplies power to your home.
