VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) in Paints

Indoor paints and varnishes that contain VOC's, or Volatile Organic Compounds, are believed to be a considerable health hazard and can possible contribute to our indoor air becoming even more polluted than our outdoor air. Even years following their application, paints and finishes containing VOC's continue to release low levels of toxic emissions into the indoor air that we breathe. Until recently, these VOC's were considered integral to the performance of the product. Lucky for us, however, this is no longer the case. New regulations and innovations have lead to both low-level and zero-level VOC paints that have many benefits including the reduction of harmful toxins, the reduction of contaminants that can deplete landfills, the ozone, and adversely affect groundwater, simplified application, cleanup, and disposal, and all of this while maintaining the integrity and performance of its high-VOC counterparts. You are urged to further investigate the usage of these low to zero-level VOC paints in your home, your friends homes, and anywhere else where people work, live, or play. There are many different types and brands that can be found at your local hardware store or on the internet.
